Raw Zucchini Sushi Rolls
From For the Love of Food
4 servings
1/2 cup cashews, soaked overnight
1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
3 - 4 zucchini (each yields 6 - 8 slices)
2 carrots, sliced into matchsticks
1 cucumber, seeds removed and sliced into matchsticks
4 medium radishes, sliced
1 avocado, peeled and sliced
1 small bunch cilantro
Drain cashews and put into food processor with rice vinegar. (Depending on how long cashews were soaked you might need to add a tablespoon of water to get the right consistency.) Process, scraping sides with spatula if necessary, until cashews are a soft paste but still have some texture.
Chop the ends off of your zucchini and use a vegetable peeler to peel your zucchini into long thin strips. Lay zucchini strip flat and add a small spoonful of cashew mixture onto one of the ends of zucchini. Add a few matchsticks of veggies, avocado, and a couple of pieces of cilantro. Roll up and enjoy!(via exclusivelyhealthy)

detox that bod in 5 steps
everyone has bad nights of eating or drinking. it happens, especially over the weekends when you’re hanging out with friends. here’s what to do:
1: drink up. water is your best friend today. drink at least 8 glasses of water throughout the day, and at least 1 glass with every meal. water helps restore balance in your body and washes out toxins.
2: get things movin’. we want to get the bad stuff out. eat fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, but skip your typical fiber foods like bread or other grains that will further weigh you down. foods like leaves, carrots, apples, grapefruit, and squash will clear your system.
3: tea time. peppermint or ginger tea are excellent helpers in the digestive area. drink 3 cups today with the juice of 1/2 lemon to clear the lining of your digestive track and reduce bloating.
4: grab your blender. make this awesome detoxifying smoothie. Use it as a meal replacement. Green Smoothie — 1 cup baby spinach, 1 cup kale, 1 pear, 1 ½ cup of orange juice, and 1 frozen banana.
5: stay on track. don’t be discouraged because of one slip-up. keep on chugging with your normal workout routine. the post-workout exhilaration will increase your positivity, maintain your physique, eliminate toxins, and regulate your, er….bathroom time.
most importantly, though— don’t sweat it. we all slip up here and there, and one day of off-eating or drinking is OK. chances are your progress won’t be disturbed.
